Nice catch on the quote. You're right. Some people say it was Abbie Hoffman, but I checked the attribution, and it's part of a long passage by Leary, who attributes it to Socrates.

I thought more people would like the attribution to Leary than the headier, "well, Socrates said..."; 7/10/05 12:05
